We hope you're keeping well through these challenging times.
We were delighted to finally be able to open for our 2020 season on the 8th of July after the lockdown was imposed on our original opening date of the 16th of March 2020.
In the best interest of the health and safety of our guests, our team and our community, we have reserved the Restaurant for staying guests only this season.
A Refuge of Comfort
Our remote location, tiny scale, and design based around guest space and comfort means we are ideally situated to offer the most safe, relaxing and refreshing guest experience in these strangest of times.
We are very fortunate to be located in Inis Meáin - by far the quietest and least developed of the Aran Islands, sitting 13 miles off the west coast of Ireland. Inis Meáin has stayed undeveloped and therefore does not attract the large number of visitors that frequent our neighbouring islands.
When creating Inis Meáin Restaurant & Suites 15 years ago, we built just 5 very spacious suites for 10 guests and a small restaurant to be in keeping with the unique quietness of the island, and a small dedicated team, led by the owners Ruairí and Marie-Thérèse de Blacam, look after guests during their stay.
Styled as a nature lodge, we equip our guests to explore our stunning oceanic island while giving them maximum privacy and personal space, with a special breakfast and a hotpot backpack lunch delivered to the suites daily.
The day is rounded off with our Island Dinner, in expansive and relaxed surroundings, made up of the best available produce from the seaweed infused earth of our vegetable gardens, and the clean waters of the surrounding Atlantic, complimented by a carefully curated and extensive wine selection.
We are delighted that we can once more welcome our special guests to appreciate our unique island location and the refuge of comfort that we have created.
We wish to thank our guests, team and community for your support, understanding and patience over the past few months and for the time ahead.
Fanaigí slán agus tabhair aire dá chéile!
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Marie-Thérèse & Ruairí de Blacam
